Why Create 'We Are Cheyenne'?

Cheyenne isn’t just where I live — it’s part of my family’s legacy.

My roots here run deep. My grandmother, born in 1917, grew up in Cheyenne and in her youth tap danced at The Atlas Theater. Later worked as a nurse at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital. In addition to her work in healthcare, many of my uncles, my grandmother, and her sister all worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, helping shape the backbone of this city’s history. Both my mom and aunt were born in Cheyenne, and growing up, I spent countless summers here attending family reunions — a tradition my aunt still proudly carries on today.

I was raised just north of Dallas in Allen, Texas, and went on to graduate from the University of North Texas. After college, I moved to Las Vegas, where I built a career in hospitality and nightlife. I worked at several well-known venues including Planet Hollywood at the Caesars Forum Shops, Saltgrass Steakhouse, and TAO Beach at The Venetian. I also promoted for nightclubs and eventually launched my own nightlife promotions and hosting company, Nocturnal Vegas.

Las Vegas taught me a great deal about people, energy, and connection — but it also came with personal challenges. In 2019, I made the decision to leave Las Vegas and move to Cheyenne.

Since then, I’ve worked throughout the local restaurant scene at Olive Garden, T Joe’s Steakhouse, Village Inn, and Swan Ranch Steakhouse. What truly reconnected me to Cheyenne was the community — especially the shared moments at karaoke nights at Cadillac Ranch, Peppermill, DT’s, The Redwood, and Alf’s. I also love going to concerts at The Lincoln. Those nights reminded me how powerful simple connection and local gathering can be.

I created We Are Cheyenne to honor this city’s past while uplifting its present. This platform exists to celebrate local stories, spotlight small businesses, support creatives, and bring people together through conversation, music, and shared experience.
